Flight Operations Reorganization ( Show Article ) |
By: Al Rosenberg @ 22 May 2019 20:30:09z |
|
| Reorganization of the website "Downloads" and "Flight Operations Schedules" is underway.
This will consolidate and reconcile all Flight Operations into a standardized and concise format, simplifying the Planning and Setup processes.
All operations documents will follow a standardized format, and will be cross-referenced by: Origin, Destination, & Type, to simplify the planning process.
A "Sortie Package" will be produced for each operation, and will be available for download, and will contain:
1. A "Sortie Briefing" of the operation. A narrative (similar to a spoken briefing) outlining setup (Weather, Time, Season, Scenery, etc.), and will also specify any special software required (i.e. vLSO for Carrier Qualifications / Operations), FSX@War Target packages, etc.
2. An .MU "cartridge" to be loaded into the ACM (For VRS/TacPack aircraft)
3. A "Comm Card" listing all programmed communications frequencies. These freqencies are factual and accurate, and will work with automated ATC such as "Vox ATC" (should you so desire to utilize it).
4. A "Strip Map" showing a graphic representation of the flight.
5. A .PLN file to be loaded into the simulator (FSX/P3d), and Active Sky Weather prior to start up of your sortie.
6. If required, a "Route Card" showing any particular flight advisories / restrictions along the route-of-flight.
7. If required, "Ordnance Card(s)" for any ordnance delivery operations.
In the interim, current documentation and flight schedules will remain in effect. Until such time as the new Downloads files become active for use, they will be kept in a separate section of the Downloads Tab, and will be password-protected.
